Inside a star
As you can see, this is what is inside a star. At the centre, is the core. This has the role of producing the light, which can take up to 100 000 years to get from the core to the photosphere. Photosphere's of some stars, like the sun, can be a small 5500 degrees celsius, but their core can be 15 million degrees!
Solar flares
Occasionally, you may see what looks like a small bit of flame rise above the surface of the Sun as pictured on the left. It is called a solar flare, which has an 11 year cycle. There are times when it cools down, and when it heats up a Solar Flare occurs.
Life cycle of a star
Underneath is a video about a stars' life cycle. It explains their life cycle using people as energy in the Universe. It also uses some pictures of stars to explain, and audio so you know what is happening.
